The 2-Month-Long Nappy Run Campaign

The Nappy Run Campaign is a month-long national campaign during October of each year with the aim of: 

Raising awareness, and raising nappies or money for nappies for children with disabilities.

The campaign informs and sensitizes the general public on children with disabilities in South Africa, their special needs and their very high and expensive need for nappies.

The campaign will appeal to the public to donate nappies by delivering them to central collection points in towns and cities throughout the country.

We hope to get nappy companies on board to donate a packet of nappies for each packet of their brand donated by the public.

The campaign is supported by widespread educational and promotional publicity through all forms of public media like newspapers, magazines, radio and TV.

The campaign will have a media partner like the SABC to ensure regular editorial programs and promos for the campaign and the Nappy Run Events.

The campaign will have a chain store retail partner to sponsor the printing and distribution of publicity material such as banners and pamphlets, to provide in store promotional material and to serve as collection points with in-store collection bins for the donation of nappies.

The Association of Round Table Southern Africa (ARTSA), the Nappy Run Service Partner will be responsible for the collection of nappies from collection points and distribute them to the child care centers and organizations where they are most needed. Nappies will only be distributed to children and centers in the area where they are collected.

The Campaign’s Main Feature: the Nappy Run

The central feature and highlight of the month-long Nappy Run Campaign is the Nappy Run itself. Nappy Runs will take place in all participating towns and cities. The Nappy Run is a Fun Run. People can run, walk, bring along their children, parents and enjoy a family day. It can even serve as a team building exercise for work colleagues.

The entrance fee for a Nappy Run: A Packet of Nappies!

A unique feature of the Nappy Run Events is the condition that each participant must wear or display a nappy in any way they wish.
Nappy Run venues will be publicized nationally and in the areas where they will take place.
